How will our members benefit?

We need to preserve our open space, environment and carbon print South Africa is running out of burial space, ICSA has a solution! ICSA has crematoria spread across South Africa. Both cremation and burial have their benefits depending on what you are looking to have after you die. Although this sounds morbid, this is a matter that you should decide on before you get to a point where you can’t make decisions for yourself. You need to decide what is most dignified and respectful to you as a person. In South Africa there is an urgent need for our nation to start considering cremation as an alternative to burials.
Cremation is less expensive than traditional burials. A traditional burial requires a casket, a burial plot and a tombstone. An elaborate funeral can still be planned with the use of a temporary casket.
Saves Land
In an age where South Africans are becoming more concerned with recycling, people are concerned about filling cemeteries with casket that do not decompose. Cremation certainly helps with that concern. In fact, its common today for families to bury multiple people in cremation urns in a cemetery plot that is designed to hold one uncremated body.
Body Not in Earth
For many people, the idea of a body slowly decomposing underground in a casket is undignified and even frightening. Cremation is quick and clean and the disposal of the body in this way is comforting to some people.
